OUR COURSES

The courses listed in this section are generally NOT beginner courses. These courses are aimed at individuals that have at least a basic foundation in the safe use of firearms. You do not need to be an expert, but you do need to be sufficiently knowledgeable and skilled to ensure safety during these courses.

If you do not have a lot of experience in using firearms, we suggest that you begin with one of the NRA Basic courses offered by Response Ability Firearms Training, LLC.

Our courses are divided into two basic subject areas:

  • Tactical Shooting Skills
  • Competitive Shooting Skills

If you would like to sponsor one of these courses at your home club, please visit our sponsor page for further information.

Low Light Shooting I

Low Light Shooting I is an introductory course designed to introduce the shooter to low light shooting considerations. The course includes discussion regarding the physiological effects of low light on vision, and differences in lighting conditions including natural light, artificial light, low light and no light. Topics will include equipment selection, including selecting an appropriate light, and a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of hand held vs. mounted light systems; flashlight techniques for shooting; drawing and shooting in low light; reloading in low light, and concludes with range exercises that include shooting and reloading in low light conditions.

Low Light Shooting II

This is an advanced low light shooting course that builds on the fundamental skills of Low Light Shooting I. In Low Light Shooting II the shooter will be exposed to more advanced shooting concepts such as moving while shooting, engaging multiple targets, effectively using cover and concealment, clearing malfunctions and more accurate shot placement in low light situations.

Prerequisite: Low Light Shooting I

Point Shooting I

The reality is that most defensive shooting situations occur so fast, and at such close distances, that there isn't enough time to obtain a sight picture. Can you shoot accurately without the sights? This course will teach you the fundamentals of point shooting at close range. Discover the myths and realities of point shooting, and get exposed to faster close range shooting.

Point Shooting II

Our advanced point shooting course explores more in depth the fundamentals required to shoot accurately at close range without the sights.
Prerequisite: Point Shooting I

Stress Fire

Learn how you will react under stress. Can you still shoot? Can you still reload? Can you clear a malfunction? Can you make a reasonable decision in a split second with an elevated heart rate? This course has more to do with learning about yourself than it does shooting. You might be surprised to find out a bit about yourself.

Private instruction is also available to address your specific shooting needs.
